Fancy Gap sits at the intersection of Interstate 77 and the Blue Ridge Parkway, where the Virginia Piedmont rises into the Appalachian highlands. At roughly 2,900 feet elevation, it marks a natural threshold between regions.

Most visitors arrive by way of I-77, crossing the Virginia-North Carolina line along one of the steepest grades on the East Coast. Others come via the Parkway itself, drawn by overlooks and the quiet rhythm of ridge-top driving.

Fancy Gap is an unincorporated community in Carroll County, Virginia. Key reference points:
